China Pavilion – Epcot WDW

In all my time collecting pressed coins from Walt Disney World I don’t remember a time when there was a machine located at the China Pavilion.  To be honest I didn’t go through each and every penny I have in my collection, but just from memory if there were coins here it was a long time ago.  Now all of a sudden as this beautiful pavilion they have not just one but two penny machines.

This really is one of the more picturesque pavilions located in Epcot’s World Showcase.  Unfortunately since my family usually starts by the Canadian pavilion and work counterclockwise around the Lagoon.  I’m not sure why other than we are Canadian, but in any case we are usually pretty tired by the time we get to the China pavilion and don’t spend much time here.  Which is really a same because this is a great place to check out.  When you do visit the pavilion you will want to stop by the House of Good Fortune Gifts.

Good Fortune Gifts

This place has all sorts of great goodies from China, including a large selection of souvenirs, candies, and of course tea, tea pots and beautiful tea sets.  Also located in this store near the doors that lead to the promenade is the first penny machine.  I will say that these coins did prove to be a little elusive for me, and I eventually found a set on eBay from a seller I use quite often.

EPT - China 01

It’s an electric three design machine that includes inmates of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Pluto.  If you are visiting this pavilion and use this machine you can walk out into the promenade towards the museum building and you will find the second machine.

EPT - China 02 Pennies

The second machine is a 4 die hand crank model with images of Donald Duck “Strength”, Goofy “Good Luck”, Mulan in front of the China Pavilion, and Goofy pulling a Rickshaw carrying Mickey and Minnie.

After getting these two sets I am really impressed with the designs.  They make for a nice additional to the World Showcase series, which now includes designs for all of the country pavilions.  It’s the United Nations of pressed coins and fits neatly in your pocket.

2016 WDW Pennies & Quarters

They’re here!!!

It’s that time of year again and Walt Disney World has released their new 2016 pressed penny and quarter designs at various locations throughout the resort.  Just like last year they have released 15 designs in total.

2016 WDW Complete Set

As you can see above there is a nice variety of designs including the famous Disney Characters, the castle and even the ones with just the 2016 year listed.

2016 WDW Pennies All

Here is a shot of just the penny designs which just like last year have 8 designs in total, and below is a picture of the 7 quarter designs.

2016 WDW Quarters Complete

Now let me go over each individual coin so you can see a close up and I’ll review where to find each one.

2016 Magic Kingdom Penny 02

First up we will visit the Magic Kingdom where you can find 4 of these designs.  The picture above is of Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey with his hands outstretched is pressed on a penny and available at Sir Mickey’s Store near Cinderella’s Castle.

2016 Magic Kingdom Penny 03

The penny on the left is of Cinderella’s Castle and can be found at the Emporium on Main Street.

2016 Magic Kingdom Penny 01

The third design is also on a penny and shows Apprentice Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto surrounding the 2016.  This penny is available at the Splashdown Photos Preview at the end of Splash Mountain (Tip: You don’t need to actually go on the ride but can walk back trough the gift shop towards the exit of Splash Mountain to access this machine).

2016 Magic Kingdom QTR 01

The only 2016 quarter design available in the Magic Kingdom can be found at the Main Street Railroad Station at the bottom of the stairs.  The image is of Cinderella’s Castle above the 2016.

2016 Epcot Penny

Over at Epcot they have two designs available.  The first is located in the huge Mouse Gears gift shop in Future World.  The penny had Apprentice Mickey controlling the waves surrounding him.

2016 Epcot QTR

A short walk over towards The Land is where you will find the second coin at Epcot.  It’s located right outside the Garden Grill revolving restaurant and has Donald with a Tuba wrapped around his neck.

2016 Animal Kingdom Penny

At the Animal Kingdom park the penny design is available at Chester & Hester’s Dino Treasures.  Are you noticing a theme here?  This design also has an image of Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey with his magic wand.

2016 Animal Kingdom QTR

The second coin is available at the Harambe Railway Station.  Here you will find the quarter design which has Pluto playing a saxophone.

2016 Hollywood Studios Penny

So far Disney hasn’t released the new name of this park so for now I’m still going to call it Hollywood Studios.  This park also has two designs available.  The first is a penny located at the Prop Shop along with about 12 other machines (not really but pretty close).  This is a nice image of 2016 with the Sorcerer’s Hat on top of the zero.

HS - Mickeys of Hollywood 2016 QTR

UPDATED: This quarter design is in a machine that was originally located at the Mickeye’s of Hollywood store, but was moved to the Pizza Planet in Hollywood Studios.  My friend was able to find the machine at the Pizza Planet but recently it seems to have gone missing.  If any of you have been keeping up with Disney renovation news the Pizza Planet is about to be closed down (maybe moved) to make room for the new Star Wars and Toy Story lands.

2016 Contemporary Resort Penny

Time to ride the monorail.  First stop is the Contemporary Resort, and the awesome wall of pressed coin machines located on the 4th floor concourse directly below the monorail platform.  The penny design has 2016 in the middle surrounded by 6 different Disney characters.

2016 Contemporary Resort QTR

The machine with the quarter design is also located on the 4th floor concourse.  This is a really nice coin.  2016 is in the middle and surrounded by Music, Magic, Memories (2016’s theme) and a banner that says Where magic lives.

2016 Grand Floridian Resort Penny

Three monorail stops later and we are at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  Taking the monorail will have you on the exact floor of the resort you need to be for the penny machine.  It’s located on the 2nd floor Lobby and has an image of Goofy playing a drum.

2016 All-Star Sports QTR

These last two will require a trip on a bus (or take your car) over to the All-Star Resorts.  The first stop is at the All-Star Sports Resort to find the above quarter design located at the Game Point Arcade.  The image is of Minnie Mouse playing a Bass Violin.

2016 All-Star Music QTR

Just one resort over and you arrive at the All-Star Music Resort.  The quarter machine is located at the Note-able Games Arcade and shows Daisy playing a violin.

Whew!!  That’s the whole set for this year, and as I said last year it looks like they are really trying to up the ante each year which I think is completely awesome.  I like that there are no duplicate designs this year and can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the year.

New Marketplace Fun Finds – Disney Springs

Out with the old Downtown Disney in Orlando, and in with the new revitalized Disney Springs.  When I had visited back in April much of this area was under construction and behind the magical walls forcing us to use our imagination as to what Disney was creating.

Now I believe the official grand opening isn’t until early 2016 but some of the new restaurants and shops have started to open.  I’ve got a few on my list for the next time we visit.  But in the meantime a new set of pressed pennies became available at the Marketplace Fun Finds.  This little store has seen quite a bit of action with their machines this year.  The original machine located here had four designs all that included “Downtown Disney”.  Well naturally with the name change to Disney Springs these old coins had to go.

DS - Marketplace Fun Finds 2015

Similar to the previous set all four of these designs says “Disney Springs” and included images of the Disney Springs Logo, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy.  A friend of mine from Orlando was able to stop by and get these coins for me, but his phone was dead by the time he got to the store and wasn’t able to get a picture of the machine (I’m sending a phone car charger for Christmas).  But as always I’m very thankful he didn’t mind going out of his way to pick these up for me so I’ll forgive the dead battery (this time hint hint).

If you’re in the area make sure you stop by the new Disney Springs and see what’s new.  Check out Iron Chef Morimoto’s new restaurant or take an amphibious car for a tour of the lake from the new Boathouse restaurant.  Then before heading home wonder by the Marketplace Fun Finds and get a set of these coins, it’s the first new set for Disney Springs and hopefully won’t be the last.

Hanna’s Minnie Mouse Birthday Party

My daughter Hanna celebrated her 3rd birthday just the other day and this weekend we held her party.  With our recent trip to Walt Disney World earlier this year Hanna has become obsessed with Minnie Mouse.  Which ended up being great for us as it immediately became the theme of her party.

Hanna 3rd Birthday

Our house was decorated up in pink bows, and there were cookies shaped like bows and the classic Mickey silhouette for the kids to decorate.  It was a great party but very exhausting by the time everyone went home and we finished cleaning up.

After everything was done I wanted to post something about her party and I wish I could say I commissioned a penny machine just for her party but sadly it wasn’t in the budget this year but it’s on my to-do list for a future birthday.  Instead I used this as an excuse to go through my collection and post some Minnie Mouse designs that I have acquired over the years.  To my surprise there really are not a whole lot of designs.  I didn’t want to inundate with you every single one but I picked out a few of my favorites.

Quick side note, I wanted to thank Parkpennies.com and Presscoins.com for their fantastic websites that are invaluable resources and helped with some of the details on these coins.

DL Adventureland Bazaar

First up we will travel to Anaheim California.  The above design was available in the Disneyland park in Adventureland at Rajan’s Mint.  This design has Minnie in what is referred to online as a “Shy Pose”.  It was first made available in 2006 and eventually retired in 2012.

MK Emporium 2005

After that quick trip to the west coast we now head down to Florida to check out some designs from Walt Disney World.  The above design was a pressed quarter I picked up on a trip in 2005.  This was the year the resort had their “Happiest Celebration on Earth” going on.  This design was available in the Magic Kingdom at the Emporium located on Main Street.

DTD Cap N Jack Retired

Above is a pressed pennies with classic Minnie’s face only.  This design was originally available at Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant located in Downtown Disney.  It was first moved in 2013 for the very beginning of the Disney Springs changes.  Then in 2014 it was relocated in Hollywood Studios at the Prop Shop.  In January 2015 this machine then moved again to the Fort Wilderness Campground at the Settlement Trading Post by the marina where it is currently still available.

RST All Star Sports

Over at the All-Star Sports Resort the above design is also currently on-stage and available.  It has Minnie on Roller Skates which I thought was kind of cute.  This resort actually has 4 machines in total available outside the Game Point Arcade which is across from the End Zone Food Court.

MK Tom Sawyer Exit

This design has Minnie dressed up like a Cowgirl.  It’s available in a machine located in Frontierland near the Tom Sawyer Island exit also close to Big Thunder Mountain.  This machine was first available in 2011, was temporarily moved to the Country Bear Jamboree porch in 2012.  As of 2015 this machine has been located at the Frontier Trading Post.

HS Prop Shop 2015

I thought I would end with a recent addition to my collection which I got earlier this year.  It is part of the annual design set that lists the year 2015 and has Minnie clasping her hands together.  This design is located in Hollywood Studios at the Prop Shop but not for too much longer with the end of the year quickly approaching.

As I mentioned above this is just a sampling of the pressed coins that have been available with a Minnie design.  If you’re interested in finding out more be sure to check out the above links I included for Parkpennies.com and Presscoins.com as they will have a much more comprehensive list.  These were a few I found and wanted to share since I was still in the Minnie Mouse mode from Hanna’s birthday party.  I know Hanna had a great birthday and will be curious to see what theme she requests next year.

Monster’s Inc Pennies – Hollywood Studios WDW

It’s been a little while since a new machine became available at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida, but just this past week or so that finally changed.  This new machine is located in the Prop Shop where it seems almost every other penny machine in this park is now located.  For those of you that don’t know there were some major changes announced for Hollywood Studios over the next few years which include a Toy Story Land and for you anyone interested in a galaxy far far away…Star Wars Land.  Below I have listed one of the concept drawings that has been floating around online and I must say if we get anything close to this it would really be amazing.

 HS - Star Wars Land

The reason I bring these up is that there are a lot of changes going on at Hollywood Studios these days.  Numerous attractions have already closed with potentially more to come as the additional space is needed for these new Lands that are being installed.  With so much going on it seems like the penny machines are being gathers into a hand full of locations which makes finding them easier.  The Prop Shop is located back where Streets of America meets Pixar place, this is also the area where the Studio Catering Co. and Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure are also located.  The Prop Shop is now home to I think about 7 pressed coin machines in total which could make for quite a haul in a short amount of time.  This latest machine to be put on stage is a 4-design hand crank model themed around the popular Pixar movie Monster’s Inc.

HS - Prop Shop Monsters 2015

The designs include: Mike Wazowski, Sully Sullivan, Boo, and Randall.  Each character is shown coming through one of the famous doors in Monstropolis.  I was quite impressed with the detail of each of these new coins, but also a little surprised they were utilizing this movie when they have a few other newer titles that were recently released.  In any case they make a nice addition to the collection.  With all the changes that will be going on at Hollywood Studios you may want to get all the pressed coins you can because who knows what will happen to these machines when buildings start coming down and new planets start showing up.

Once Upon A Toy – Downtown Disney WDW

Another mega-multi design machine has been setup in Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World Orlando.  I don’t know if that’s actually what it should be called but that’s what I’m going with.  This is a similar machine to the one I visited and wrote about at Hollywood Studios that had 12 designs.  Unfortunately this machine doesn’t have 12 designs but rather only 8.  Doesn’t make much difference to me as I still think these new machines are really cool and hopefully get some people who wouldn’t usually get a pressed penny to try it out just for the unique experience.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to use this machine in person since I’m stuck in Jersey until our next trip to Florida.  Instead a friend of mine was at a conference in Orlando and one evening went over to get the pennies for my collection.  His phone was dead by the time he was visiting so he didn’t get to take a picture of the machine cabinet but from what he described to me it sounds very similar to the one at Hollywood Studios.

DTD - Once Upon A Toy Pennies FL

As I mentioned this machine has 8 designs which are all part of a series about the popular Frozen animated movie.  These designs are different from all other Frozen designs currently available at the parks, and makes a really nice sub-set to collect.  Just like the other “mega-multi design machine” (I’m going to get this the official name just watch!) each individual design is $1.00 to press, or you can get all 8 for $5.00.  The machine does supply the coin which could be good or bad depending on your luck.

The designs are: #1 Elsa with her Snow Castle, #2 Anna & Elsa holding a Snow Flake, #3 Anna & Elsa looking at each other, #4 Anna, #5 Anna sitting in front of the Castle, #6 Elsa, #7 Olaf, and #8 Sven & Kristoff.  Phew!

As you can see from the picture above I lucked out with some nice shiny pennies, but I know these aren’t pre-1982 as I usually prefer.  A couple of the designs pressed a little short at the bottom but for the most part they came out really nicely.

Hopefully as time goes by we will see more and more of these machines placed on stage.  The higher cost per coins is a little worrisome, but I do like being able to get larger quantities of designs in one place.  There’s no such thing as too many pressed coins!

Star Wars Pennies – Hollywood Studios WDW

For those Star Wars fans out there a friend of mine in Florida gave me some good and bad news.  The good news is that the penny machine available only during the Star Wars Weekends in Hollywood Studios is back on stage.  The bad news is that the designs are the same ones that have been available the last two years.

In years past this machine has been located at Darth Mall near the Star Tours attraction, but this year it is at the Prop Shop which home to five other machines.

Star Wars Weekend Pennies

The three designs available are: Jedi Mickey, Princess Minnie, and Darth Goofy.  Pretty cool designs, and a great collectible for press coin and Star Wars collectors.

I wouldn’t bet on this machine being available beyond the end of the Star Wars Weekends ending June 14th.  So if you haven’t picked these up and you are visiting during a Star Wars weekend you better do so soon.   I’ll keep my fingers crossed that maybe next year they update the designs.

Cirque Du Soleil – Downtown Disney WDW

It’s been almost two months since my family trip to Orlando and the Walt Disney Resort.  During that trip I had a pretty extensive list of coin machines I needed to visit.  Some I needed to actually press the coins and others I just needed a picture of the machine for my website and personal collection records.  I was able to get every machine except for one.  I visited the location for this machine on our very first day in Orlando.  Since the first day was our travel day we didn’t want to waste a partial day at one of the theme parks so instead we headed to Downtown Disney to walk around, and do some shopping.

There were a couple other machines in Downtown Disney I needed to visit but the first one I went to was in the West Side at the Cirque Du Soleil gift shop.  I entered the store with my daughter and niece and while they checked out the unusual gifts available in the store I did my usually casual wander around the perimeter of the store trying to locate the machine.  But to my disappointment I didn’t see it.  So I walked outside to glance around to see if it was around a corner, or near the payphone, but still nothing.  I went back inside and decided to ask the staff member at the register about it and was told the disappointing news that the machine had been removed for repairs.  Every so often I come across this situation and some places actually keep extras of the coins behind the counter to sell while the machine is out getting fixed, unfortunately this store didn’t do that so I was out of luck.  This was not the best way to start off my vacation of coin collecting but things definitely got better and as I mentioned earlier this ended up being the only machine I wasn’t able to acquire.

I had reached out to some contacts and friends of mine to try to see if anyone had extras of these designs, or if they had any news on the machine.  It seemed like weeks went by and I hadn’t heard anything other than the machine was still missing from the store.  Then finally just last week a seller on eBay that I have used quite often in the past had some new items up for auction and to my surprise it was these mysterious Cirque Du Soleil designs.  I quickly did what I had to do to get all four designs and a few days later they arrive in my mail.

DTD - Cirque Du Soleil Coins

I have not see the Cirque Du Soleil show La Nouba in Downtown Disney but have heard that it is really good.  To be honest I haven’t seen any Cirque Du Soleil shows and I’m in Jersey where they come to New York all the time.  My family has seen a show or two and always rave about it so I guess I’ll have to check one out at some point to see what all the fuss is about.  The four designs were all inspired by the La Nouba show.  I had to look up these descriptions at presscoins.com as I really had no idea what a couple of them were so much thanks to them for their amazing database and blog.  The designs are: BMX Cyclist, Green Bird, Titan and two other performers, and Les Cons (The Nuts).  All four designs also say La Nouba Cirque Du Soleil.

There is a nice feeling right now of completion knowing that I have all the current pressed coin designs available at the Walt Disney World Resorts, but I know that is short-lived (Thankfully) and I’ll be on the hunt again very soon.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Tour

I previously wrote about my “Pool Day” adventures during our trip where my family enjoyed the pool at our resort and I ran around the entire Walt Disney World property visiting pressed coin machines I needed for my collection.  One of the resorts I visited and was really looking forward to spending some time at was the Art of Animation Resort.  The last time I had visited this resort was still under construction but now it’s been open and Disney really did a great job on this place.

IMG_5678

This resort is located right beside the Pop Century resort.  I drove into the check-in parking lot and was greeted by the above resort sign.  As I walked towards the entrance the outside of the building was decorated with large animation cell style artwork with images of Lightning McQueen, Ariel, Nemo and Simba.

IMG_5680

Once inside I first headed over to the Landscape of Flavors Food Court to use the two penny machines located here.  This was first and foremost the reason I had visited this resort.  Just to review both machines are electronic 3 design models.

Art of Animation 01   Art of Animation 02

The first machine has the following designs: Nemo, Lightning McQueen, and the Art of Animation Logo.  The second machine had designs of: Ariel, Simba and Mater.  Now with those machines checked off my list I was free to wander around the resort and see what the Disney Imagineers had come up with.

As I exited out the back of the main building I headed to the left of the main pool (I’ll talk about this shortly) but was immediately transported into Radiator Springs from the Pixar movie Cars.

IMG_5687

The pathways were made to look like roads, and everywhere you looked there were little details that really put you into the movie.  Look closely at the above picture and you can see the Sheriff waiting to catch a speeder.  Eventually I came across some familiar characters from the movie.

IMG_5689

First was Flo from Flo’s V-8 Cafe.  Not sure if you can see in the background but there were signs asking that you not climb on the cars.  But come on look at these things they are just begging to be played with and climbed on.  Oh well don’t want to push my luck.

IMG_5690

Next up I met Ramone who runs Ramone’s House of Body Art.  After that I ended up at the Cozy Cone Motel.

IMG_5691

Here at the resort unfortunately the Cozy Cone Motel wasn’t actually a hotel but a pool.  I’m not sure if you had to reserve them in advance or just get there really early but they had cones available for use around the pool for a nice shady spot to relax.

IMG_5696

Next I came across one of the actual resort buildings that housed some guest rooms.  There were a couple more to come but this first one was designed to look like Luigi’s Casa Della Tires and his sidekick Guido was there too ready to change your tires if needed.  In the picture below you can see the doors that lead into the building and to the guest rooms.  I was just really amazed at how that was all blended into the scenery.

IMG_5693

The next guest room building was the Wheel Well Hotel with Lightning McQueen and Sally greeting everyone out front.  This was another great scene from the movie that added to the magic of this area of the resort.

IMG_5694

The last building was none other than fan favorite Mator and his Towing & Salvage yard.    I know I keep saying it but wow the detail is just amazing.  I kept waiting for him to start moving and talking as I walked past but unfortunately they are all stationary, but who knows that would be a really amazing upgrade in the future (hint hint Disney!).

IMG_5697

After completing my tour of Radiator Springs I headed back towards the main pool by the food court area.  The pool was huge, and was included in the Finding Nemo area of the resort.  As soon as you got to this area you immediately felt like you had gone under water to hang out with the aquatic animals from the movie.

IMG_5683

I walked around the pool and checked out the buildings I came across.  One of them even had the large posts you find in the water near a pier with the famous Seagulls “Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine”.

IMG_5685

Similar to the Cars guest room buildings these also had different characters at the entrance.  The first building I walked by had Mr. Ray the large spotted Eagle Ray that was the teacher and school bus all in one.

IMG_5698

At the far end of the large main pool there was a play structure that was designed to look like a reef with the slide and tunnels are incorporated into the design.  Squirt the little turtle was there to look over all the playing children.

IMG_5699

Another great piece of design work was that each building had fish attached to the sides like they were swimming above you as your walked around the resort.  They were attached to the buildings in a way that made them seem like they were just floating by enjoying the day.

IMG_5700

The shrubs and plants that were located along the pathways also looked like they were right at home at the bottom of the ocean.  There were other sea creatures located in and among these plants adding to the illusion that you are under the waves with them.

IMG_5702

The last guest rooms building had the large Sea Turtle Crush lounging on his shell right outside the main door and Dory was right there with him keeping watch over the pool and resorts guests.

IMG_5701

Unfortunately my time was up and I didn’t get a chance to check out the Little Mermaid or Lion King areas but I’m sure they are equally as amazing.  I was only able to visit for about a half hour or so but wow I was really impressed.  This is listed as a value resort, but from what I saw online the prices are definitely on the higher end of the value resort scale.  It’s not as far away from the theme parks as the All-Star Resorts are, but you still do need to use the bus transportation to get to all the parks if you don’t have a car.  Since the price of this resort isn’t much different from most of the moderate resorts which usually give some added benefits from the value resorts.  But I will say that this resort was really more than I had expected and blows away the All-Star Resorts and even the Pop Century resort.  You definitely are paying more for the additional design and themes of each area of the resort, but I think it would be worth it and I know that I had fun myself and would love to see what my family thinks.  Since I didn’t stay at this resort this time I didn’t have access to any of the rooms, but after showing my wife the pictures I think I have her convinced we should stay here on our next trip to Orlando.  Bravo Disney this is a beautiful resort and I hope all future resorts get this much attention and detail.

WDW Trip Day 7 – Magic Kingdom Take 2

Just as a quick disclaimer, on this second trip to the Magic Kingdom there was only one machine I needed to check out so most of this post is going to be non-pressed penny related (Gasp!).

On our second day in Florida when we first visited Magic Kingdom there was a machine in the Emporium on Main Street that was out-of-order when I tried to use it.  I had sent a TXT to the number on the plaque, and I don’t want to take full credit for it but the machine was working this time, so I’ll take the credit anyways.

Emporium 02

I didn’t update the picture when I went to use the machine, but I can say it was working perfectly.  There were 3 designs: 2015 Cinderella’s Castle, Sorcerer Mickey, and Anna & Elsa standing back to back.  That was the last one, I had managed to visit every machine I had on my lists and only the one in Downtown Disney at Cirque du Soleil was the only one I couldn’t get.  I was having mixed emotions (I really need help) because I was excited to have collected 99% of what I had come for, but on the flip side I was done for this trip and would have to wait until next time for more.

I put that aside for now and wanted to just enjoy our last full day as much as I could.  We had spent the night before making a list of the rides we wanted to do and with that in had headed to our first stop.  A great perk we had this day was that by staying at one of the resorts we were able to take advantage of the extra magic hour.  This allowed resort guests to access the Magic Kingdom 1 hour before it opens to the general public.  This really was a great time to get on and off as many rides as we could before the crowds and wait times really got crazy.

With our hit list in hand we made a our way onto rides with very little wait and would quickly get on the next closest ride on our list.  We bounced from Peter Pan’s Flight, to It’s a Small world, then The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea Journey of the Little Mermaid, and back to one of our all time favorites the Haunted Mansion.

IMG_5447

Are we going down?  Or is the room stretching up?  I’m still not 100% sure, but love this ride either way.  Next up we headed into Frontierland and took the train over to the Fantasyland station.  There we jumped on Goofy’s The Barnstormer roller coaster.

IMG_5916

Next we went back on the famous Dumbo ride for one last trip with our favorite elephant.  Then we went over to the Tomorrowland Speedway so Hanna could try her hand at driving (It’s didn’t go so well but thankful for the center rail keeping our car on the road).  After that we headed back on the Carousel for another ride on the horses.

IMG_5928

I sat the next ride out which was never one I overly enjoyed.  The Mad Tea Party with those spinning tea cups, yikes I’m getting nauseous just thinking about them.  The kids like the spinning but I think the adults kept it to a minimum just to make sure no one got too dizzy.

IMG_5931

Now that everyone was walking sideways trying to stop their heads from spinning we had our first Fasspass of the day.  We headed over to the Princess Fairytale Hall to meet who else but Anna and Elsa from Frozen.  This was another great moment of our trip that I hope the kids will remember when they are older.  We first met with Queen Elsa and really too her time with our kids and spoke directly to them not to us adults.  She signed our autograph books and took a lot of great pictures.

MK_PFTHBLUEA1CHAR_7266239357

Located on the opposite side of the room we got to meet Princess Anna.  She was also very nice and spent a lot of time with our kids.  She was very sweet and told a lot of cute jokes and told us stories about Olaf.  The kids were really excited by this time and it took a little work to get them all together for some pictures, but we managed to get some really great shots.

MK_PFTHBLUEA2CHAR_7266243076

We were sad to say goodbye to both Elsa and Anna but they had many more guests to visit with and we were really happy with the time we got to spend with them.  Another highly recommending thing to do if you or your kids are Frozen fans.  By this time it was almost lunch time so we headed to the Liberty Tree Tavern which we luckily had a reservation for.

After eating our lunch we headed over to use our last Fasspass for the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride.  The only disadvantage of having the Fasspass is we walked right through the queue and didn’t have much time to see all the details you would usually get to experience while waiting in line.  We got right on and have a great time.  The only issue is the ride is really short, but still a lot of fun and I think our niece Ava enjoyed it too.

IMG_5819

With the last ride on our list checked off we were ready for some much needed rest.  It had been a busy day and as much as we would have loved to stay all night in the park it just wasn’t feasible with the kids (and adults) utterly exhausted.

Later that evening after we had rested and had dinner in our room I took Hanna for one last trip around the monorail.  We stopped and got off at each monorail resort just to walk around and enjoy what we could before having to leave.  During our first stop at the Polynesian Village of course had to get one last treat as well.

IMG_5839

Mmmm…Dole Whip!  As we made our way around the last few stops on the monorail before heading back to our resort I sat with Hanna and thought about the truly amazing trip we had.  We were so thankful to be able to have the whole family together and with all the pictures, videos (and pennies) I’m sure we will be able to enjoy the memories for a long time.

IMG_5848

Until next time Disney, thanks for a great time!
