Supplies

I received lots of message asking about the different collecting supplies I use for my own collection and thought it would be easier to just create an entire page dedicated to these items. I have included links below for each of these items. Please note that these are affiliate links so if you use them to purchase any of the supplies it will help support the blog. Enjoy and Keep on Pressing!

2×2 inch cardboard flips are a cost effective way to store and display your elongated coins. These usually come in packs of 50. Here is the link.

When securing your coins inside the cardboard flips you can certainly use a regular stapler, but you may find that the backside of the staples will snag on the plastic binder pages. An easy fix for this is to use a flat cinch stapler which will ensure the staples are closed flat along the back and makes for easier storage. Here is the link.

I don’t know about you but my handwriting is terrible. To keep my collection nice and organized I will use these return address labels with my ink jet printer to make some nice labels to put on the 2×2 cardboard flips. I usually include the information about the location and a description of the elongated coin design but feel free to list any important details you like. Here is the link.

If using the 2×2 cardboard flips to store your collection you will also need these plastic binder pages. Each page holds 20 flips and is a great option to display your collection since you can see both the front and back. Here is the link.

Binders are an important part of my person collection. Due to the weight of the pennies I would recommend the Heavy Duty versions. Depending on the total number of coins being stored you may want to go with a larger size binder like 3 or 4 inches. Here is the link.

If you have a smaller collection and don’t want to use the binder options above there are plenty of the smaller penny booklets or albums available. Most of these you can find at the parks, aquariums and roadside attractions where you find yourself pressing your coins. But there are many different versions available for purchase online. Here is the link.

Another fun version is this Penny Journal. I reviewed one of these here on our blog and I thought it was a very unique way to not just display your elongated coins, but with the journal style pages also included you can document or detail out your full adventure while pressing coins. Here is the link.
