Jurassic World Collectible Medallions – Now In Color

Something interesting has taken place over at Universal’s Islands of Adventure park. Back in 2025 we documented a new set of Jurassic World Collectible Medallions (check it out here). Not quite a year later and I received a message that the coins had changed, however not the designs. What does that mean? Well apparently the coin designs are the same as before but they are now in full color. Let’s head over to the park and take a look.

I blazed through Seuss Landing, ignored the Lost Continent and bypassed Hogsmead to just head right into Jurassic World.

The medallion machine is still in the same location near the fan favorite Velocicoaster, inside the Discovery Center.

The machine cabinet didn’t even change, or the marquee everything is exactly as it was.

Taking a closer look at the buttons with the designs on them we see that they also have not changed. But if you glance up a bit you will notice our first big change that price. Dang!!! $10 for each coin, or get four for $30. Ouch!

Against my better judgement I went ahead and paid for a set so we could see them in person. As you can see the entire coin is not in full color, just the central main character.

The design on the reverse side of each coin is the same as before and remains without color which I also find a little disappointing.

After seeing the coins in person what do I think. Well in my honest opinion I do really like the color coins, it’s not just a sticker instead does appear to be an acrylic type of paint. But that price is just way too high. I can’t imagine their cost to produce these is anywhere near that $10 so the markup even for a theme park has to be really up there. The $6 per medallion we have been seeing lately really was probably the max that I was feeling comfortable paying. However if they offered color versions for maybe one more dollar I would be okay with that. $10 though I think Universal has finally priced me out of any further medallions for my collection.
